Bobby Lee Crump, Jr. was born on July 29, 1968, in Lexington, North Carolina, to Bobby L. Crump, Sr. and Kiwana Talbert Crump. He grew up alongside his three sisters, Karen, Pamela, and Julia.

Bobby graduated from Lexington Senior High School in 1986, where he played basketball, football and even drove the school bus. Well-known around town, he was a natural people person who seemed to know just about everybody.

After graduation, Bobby joined the United States Army, where he served as a tank operator, rose to the rank of Corporal, and proudly served during Operation Desert Storm. His military service took him overseas, including Germany, which remained one of his fondest memories.

Bobby was united in marriage to Dionne Ward in 1991, and from their union came two children, Londyn and Bobby Larenz. After leaving the Army, he made Galveston County his home and became known to most simply as “Rob.” He later welcomed his daughter, Dyamond, with Tonya Lee, and his son, Seth, with the late Sharis Jones. He was proud of all four of his children and especially his only grandchild, Levi.

Rob worked as a barber for many years, building a loyal clientele and countless friendships along the way. Funny, outspoken, no-nonsense, and often the life of the party, he loved fishing, sports, good conversation, and being around people.

Rob passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026, at the age of 58. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby Lee Crump, Sr. and Kiwana Talbert Crump, and his beloved aunt, Jesse “Sis” Crump, with whom he shared a very special bond.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: Londyn Crump Garcia, Bobby Larenz Crump, Dyamond Crump, and Seth Jones Crump; grandson, Levi Garcia; sisters, Karen Crump, Pamela Crump, and Julia Crump; beloved nieces Te’Ara James, Tiana James, and Aniya Crump; and many more nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, longtime clients, and friends.

Rob had a way of living life on his own terms, and one of his favorite sayings summed him up well: “Ball ’til I fall,” and that he did. Whether you knew him as Bobby or Rob, he will be remembered for his humor, his larger-than-life personality, and the many connections he made along the way.
